Abhijit Saha is the Founding Director and Chef of Avant Garde Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., which owns and operates multi award winning restaurants.

His restaurants (other than Fava) include:

  • Caperberry (Modern Spanish & European)
  • Signature Indian restaurant Saha Singapore (now in the process of relocationg)
  • Café Cassia, a quaint and relaxed eatery based on fresh food at the Cinnamon boutique
  • Red RhinoCraft Brewery & Inspired Kitchen, The Pizza Bakery – Neapolitan Style Pizzeria
  • RockSalt– Indian Tapas Bar & Restaurant (opening in December 2017) in Bangalore. With over twenty five year of varied experiences Chef Saha is a pioneer in Modernist Cuisine in India and a proponent of Cognitive Cooking with Chef Watson Super Computer by IBM.

In the past he has won the Celebrity Chef Cooking Challenge & Celebrity Chef of the Year Award, 2012-13’ by UpperCrust, Indian Federation of Culinary Associations – ‘Entrepreneur Chef of the Year’ Award 2008-09 and the South India Culinary Association ‘Golden Hat’ Award 2010 for outstanding contribution to the culinary profession.

Chef Saha has participated as a Guest Chef & Speaker at ‘The World of Flavours Conference‘– 2004, 2005 and 2007 in Culinary Institute of America and his  Gourmet Abu Dhabi, 2012 & World Gourmet Summit, Singapore 2015 & 2016, Times Litreture Festival 2012 and Ted Ex 2013 amongst others.

Abhijit Saha has studied Hotel Management from Institute of Hotel Management, Pusa New Delhi; Food Service Technology/ Design and Oenology at Johnson and Wales University, Providence, USA. Before becoming a Chef-Entrepreneur in 2009 he has worked as Chef and Director of Food & Beverage in various reputed hotels from 1990 to 2008). His keen interest in wines has taken him all over the world, including Spain, France, Italy, California and Australia. He is an active member of Chaine Des Rotisseurs, Bangalore Wine Club and was the President of the club in 2013.

Regarded fondly as the “Forever Young Chef” he enjoys F1 Racing, Wines, Travel, Architecture, Design and Photography.
